Short 'flash' fiction is a tricky art. A writer has to be able to incorporate the potency of poetry and the plot and character development of a short story. Well, if you want to learn how to do it well, read Buttaci's book. Likewise, if you just want a book of 200 dynamic and riveting stories for sheer entertainment, buy Buttaci's book. It's a great collection for anyone who enjoys a good short story (or 200 of them). Jen Knox, Musical Chairs

We were advised to be honest and brutal in our reviews and after reading Sal Buttaci's 200 Shorts, I can only say, "I want more"! Perhaps the fact I grew up in the East Coast in an Italian/Jewish community played a part in my love for Sal's tales.
Though not all were about family, for they take you on a journey of laughter, questioning and tears of sorrow. Each tale told with Mr.Buttaci's flare for words, those special touches so perfectly written, you felt as if you knew some of the characters.
Yes, '200 Shorts' is a book that will tickle anyone's fancy. It surely did mine.
