This book came about due to the author's frustration that neither political party seem to want to tackle the real problem America faces: a core meltdown - socially and fiscally.
The year is 2017. The newly-elected Republican President, Dean Kirk, unknowingly has only ten days left to live. He's survived four assassination attempts already. Are there more to follow? His VP, Steve Hancock, is driven to take major action - before it's too late.

Enter Callie Braxton, proofreader at Albright Publishing. A manuscript she's proofreading reveals "far more than it should." Amid assassination plots and an affair, Hancock faces the wrath of his lover's revenge.

Will the master plan to end President Kirk's life succeed? Or will Steve Hancock finally win the race - the ultimate race of all - to save the U.S.A. from destroying itself?

There is something compelling about the way Sara Branmore handles this take on the popular fiction theme of corruption in political circles. The only difference is that, in this case, the corruption is discovered in a rather original way and the motivation for the whole package of intrigue is neither money, sex nor power.

That factor makes this, in my opinion, a rather unique book and if the playground of the political scene interests you at all, this is definitely a book worth reading.

The slightly soapbox ending to this book has echoes of Animal Farm or 1984 (George Orwell) and there are certainly some astute observations which might well encourage the reader to think carefully about reasons behind the way the world is.

It's a fictional story about a Republican President being elected in 2017 but he's a RINO! OMG! So, after numerous assassination attempts, does he survive, or will the VP take over? A good read!
