Beautee and the Beast by Cali - Book Review

Beautee and the Beast by Cali - Book Review

This book has given me everything that I have craved. Suspense, secrets, drama, love, and from all points I absolutely could not put this book down. I finished it one day and that is a feat that I haven't done in a long while. The book starts off with you having no idea what is happening and then from there you are taken for a whirlwind of a ride.  You meet a young lady named Beautee Hill and to me, she served as a triple threat. She was married to thug herself that no one knew of. Still a virgin which meant she was faithful to a point and she was a federal agent, but not your normal federal agent. Underneath her skin, she held revenge and contempt for one man and his name was Zaire. The one man who put her husband behind bars in the first place. Beautee start on this path of redemption and revenge by being the finest thing on the planet in Zaire's eyes.  No knowing who she is, Zaire enters the scene and hooked on her from day one and even though she doesn't want to say it out loud, after a few pages she is starting to feel him too.

At this point her mind is still focused on the goal of showing Zaire that she can be down for him. Zaire has never really been one to trust, but his instincts are turned down when he sees how much fight Ms. Hill has in her. When Beautee ends up leaving him to report back to her federal agency everything that she learns to gain evidence on Zaire's extracurilicar activities.  At the agency, you meet a young lady name Moonshay. I felt her character didn't need to be in any type of federal agency and I was actually wondering how she even got the job. In Beautee's world, Moonshay is straight shady and doesn't like Beautee from the start. She what I like to call a silent hater at first and has way of using men the wrong way to resolve her own insecurities.

When Zaire is away from Beautee, you learn why he is a beast. He is a drug kingpin who thinks he can hide this from Beautee at first, but we all know the deal about that. But, he is also holding a few secrets that she doesn't know. I found him to be a straight ho as well because once he found out that Beautee was a virgin,he was trying to be faithful to Beautee, but at every turn it was thrown at him he had to go for it. I think Zaire really just fell in love with the pureness of her essence and wanted to keep her locked down by his side.

What I really loved about this book is that it gave you the present and then rewound you back to the past. It really flipped everything that I was reading and kept me in suspense the entire time. You see a lot of betrayals and secrets come out, but what I found intriguing about them was that you already knew what they were and who had them. The question that stayed on my on the entire time was how were they going to come out and what were they going to do about them. What I found funny towards the end is when Zaire's eyes just stop working and he can't really see the difference. My head was twisted and I just couldn't stop laughing. Overall, I would definitely read this book again and the one after it just to see what happens to each character. You will not be disappointed with this book. I do have one question for the author and it is in the video. When you get a chance watch my video and let me know what the answer is by leaving it in my review. Thanks for the love.
