Unequally Yoked by Sherry Lynn Snow - Book Review

Is not just a divine tale of an unequal marriage, but a lesson of letting the Lord come in and fix your marriage. This book is story of one woman’s obstacles when trying to make her walk with the Lord match the same in her husband while giving you steps and healing to its readers.  I liked this book not because it was a documentary, but because of it realness with the author. By talking about her own path and troubles, I feel she was really able to connect with readers who are having the same struggle and would be one of those books that I would give to not just couples who are going through it. I would suggest this to new couples as well so that they know and really look at each other and their own marriage.

The book starts off with these prayer request of couples really going through that those really start to paint the picture of what you are going to be reading. All of these couples have found their spouses not walking with God as they are and that that was causing trouble that needed heavy prayer.

The first lesson that Mrs. Snow tries to give you is one that I felt had down. Now I am not married, but I could see this lesson being used by many Christians and that is patience. Let them come on their because anything that we say or do is not enough. Through this lesson the author also tells you about what she did when it came to her own marriage and how she resisted temptation to better help her husband.

Mrs. Snow also showed us the power of prayer and not just to pray for what you want your husband to be and that the prayer comes from the heart. Her lessons were not just teaching materials, but to me, a really heartfelt tale of how she made it through. The strongest piece I found in this book was the story of how her husband stopped smoking, to me I felt like that message was powerful because it didn’t just help her husband but her mother in law too.

From here, you are given a powerful testimony from this author.  I think the placement of this was very well put. She handed you the lessons to help strengthen and fortify a marriage. She shows you a story of herself before her walk with Christ to now and lets you know that you are not alone in this struggle. There are a lot of couples who are unequally yoked but if you have God, anything is possible you just have to have faith in Him.
