Richard (Dick) Frank and his father Charles, are embroiled in the haunting mysteries of the fishing vessel "Salute", as they encounter forces both real and supernatural that threaten to destroy their livelihood as well as their beloved boat. A series of mysterious accidents, illness, and death forces them to face the reality that something is horribly amiss on board the Salute. Almost too late, Dick realizes that he must do something, anything, to put an end to the terrifying events, while battling his own demons that threaten his very sanity, and possibly his own life. Charles Frank, a retired Navy veteran, is a crusty, hardened fisherman, who, with his only son Richard (Dick) toils against the harshness of the Pacific Ocean in their quest to make a profitable living by commercial fishing. They have faced many hardships throughout their lives in this quaint little fishing village of Charleston, Oregon; but non as devastating or horrifying as they are soon faced when unexplained accidents, illness and death overcome the doomed boat.
As Dick's father lay in the hospital, apparently recovering from an uncanny illness, he takes on a drifter as his crew mate. Together, they head out to the tuna grounds to try to fill the ship's hold to capacity. Unfortunately, there is more beneath the deck of the Salute than meets the eye, and Dick finds himself battling to save his sanity, and ultimately try to save the Salute from the forces that have taken her over.
Fans of Stephen King, Peter Straub, and Dean Koontz will easily associate with the macabre events that unfold as the Salute sets sail into the vast world of stark myths and ghoulish catastrophe. Is there salvation for the crew and boat? You will have to find out as you are drawn into the saga of "The Curse of The Salute.
