Amy frequently abused and disrespected her children's father, verbally, emotionally, and physically when her needs weren't fulfilled. She often did this whenever the mood hit her, even if it hit her in front of her children, Andrea and Danny.
When Jack could no longer take the abuse, he promptly left for good. His leaving immediately left Amy hurt and alone, so she decided she didn't want Andrea to experience the same pain that she had, so she chose to raise her daughter to be strong, bold, fearless and independent!
