First I would like to thank Brooke Passmore for allowing me to read and review her book. As most of you know I love time travel books so when I read that this one not only time traveled but it went back to the Civil War era I was ecstatic about reading it. I also love history. I have to say that I HIGHLY recommend this book for three reasons. First this book is a time travel book that takes you back to an era where the women where to be seen not heard and secondly the history and descriptions Brooke put in her book. Man I know she did a lot of research for this book because she was spot on with all of her descriptions. And thirdly this book showed what can happen when you cross the past with the present.

17 Year old Morgan Westbrook lives in Scarlet Georgia. She lives a very plain life not having many friends or anything to do she spends her time in the forest enjoying it's beauty. Then one day while she is in the forest she finds a door. She spends several days looking at the door and then one day she decides she will go through that door. The day she goes through the door changes her life. She enters unknowingly into the the year 1863 the year of the Civil War. As she is looking around she meets Danny Carson. He is intrigued by her and they strike up a friendship. Danny is amazed that Morgan is dressed scantily and she speaks her mind. Danny is not used to that because the women of the 18th century do not talk or act like she does.

As the two get closer they begin to travel back and forth between the 18th century and the current 21st century. Danny is amazed by all he sees and enjoys spending time in the current century. Morgan is not sure what to make of the 18th century because there is slavery, war, and arranged marriages that women don't want but have to do because that is what was done in those days. Morgan has to come to terms with the fact that she is falling for Danny but he may not feel the same way. Danny comes from an era of loyalty and he will not turn his back on his family. What will happen to these two? Will Morgan go home and never return to the 18th century? Will Danny let go and be with Morgan? Come along for the greatest time travel and history book wrapped into one!
