Seriously, if YOU need to have a second pair of eyes on YOUR work - even after it's published - then drop us a line over at
We offer reasonable rates and great service - which gives you a better-looking product in the market place. My first venture into the publishing business began in the early ’80s when I first came to the USA from the UK. After a few years – and being a typical kid – I decided I wanted to “do something else”. Eventually I returned to the business and used my skills and so began two decades of work in the newspaper business – from proofreading and laying out ads, to copy input and editing – to eventually becoming Production Manager (PM) for one newspaper, and PM and Editorial Assistant to another.
Prior to working in the newspaper industry, I spent many years as a typesetter and graphic artist in our home-town print shop. Back then, we used a state-of-the-art Compugraphic EditWriter 7500 photo-typesetting machine. It shone a strobe-like beam of light through an alphabet film strip – like a negative – which contained rows of the alphabet, plus the numerals – in four different fonts. The drum that held two of these alphabet strips revolved at high speed – and when you pressed a key on the keyboard, the computer emitted a beam of light through the negative’s corresponding letter on the strip – directly onto the photographic paper.
The EditWriter created type ranging in size from 6-points all the way up to 72-points!
The photographic roll of paper was eight inches wide, and after going through the chemical developer and fixer, the paper was now white, and the beamed letters were black. It was then rinsed, and hung out to dry on a line with clothes pins. We then had to run the paper through a hot wax machine which coated the backside, so we could literally “cut and paste” the copy onto our layout boards!
And back then, we thought we had it “good”!
Fast-forward another 15 years, and here I am – with life experiences tucked under my belt and an urge to write my own books. And so I did. You can too. I know how you feel – you have that urge to write, and see your efforts materialize. It is an almost surreal experience to have a book you actually wrote resting in your very own hands. Try it, you’ll like it!
Let Beesville Books help you realize your dreams!
