I'm Alphonso "Al" Taylor, who was born and bred in Southeast, Washington DC. I'm a graduate of Duke Ellington School of Performing Arts. Also, I'm an alumni from the University of the District of Columbia with a BA in Theatre Arts. Aside from writing, I enjoy acting, which I performed in many theatrical productions in the DC area. I released my first book of poetry, Bible of an Owl: A Collection of Poems in 2006. On the follow-up, I released the sequel, my second book, Bible of an Alligator: A Collection of Poems in 2007. In 2008, I showcased my much softer side and erotic debut, Sexual Freedom: Urban Erotic Poetry. In 2009, I released my emotional and critcally acclaimed 4th book, Virgo, the Wordmaker: E.V.E's Heartbreak under my own publishing imprint, Phonso's Poems, Paragraphs & Phiction, LLC. The creativity in my books and writing gives me an art of being spiritual and sexual. I am a student of the human condition, wielding the written craft to enrapture the mind much like an artist wields a brush. The pages are a blank canvas on which to draw from a talent heralded by many and matched only by an imagination that rises to the task. I write in a rap style of the Apocalypse to destroy all evil forces surrounding me. I reside in DC.
