My name is LaKeta but most call me Keta and I am a native Washingtonian. I came out of Frank W. Ballou in 2000, studied Medical Assisting at Applied Career Training (ACT) College in 2003, in June 2010 I received my EMT-B at Maryland Fire & Recue Institute of Maryland University. Also I volunteer at one the BEST fire departments, Hyattsville Volunteer Fire Department in the state of Maryland as Firefighter/EMT where I received the EMS Member of the Year award for 2010. Currently work for one of the top pediatricians’ in the Washington, DC metropolitan area for 4yrs as a Medical Tech. Worship at Spirit of Faith Christian Center where I also serve as Greeter. In addition, I am the proud parent of two sons 9 and 10 years old. My youngest son has diagnoses of Asperger’s Syndrome (autism) when he was 3-years old. I have learned some things through our journey with autism some were easy lessons, some not as easy. Recently, I have been lead to share our stories with others to encourage, motivate and let families know there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
