Nirmal is a multicultural fiction writer & visual artist with a background in theatre and music. She grew up on Vancouver Island in a vibrant mill town within the Cowichan Valley, where her grandfather immigrated to in 1907. She has always been interested in the arts in all forms while growing up. Story telling has been a great tradition in her family, combined with a love of spiritual traditional stories from India. Nirmal combines her experiences of being Western and Eastern in her writing, often showing humor, love and tragedy in the contrasts and dogged insistence that the two shall not meet. Her first published works is a two book series called 'Bollywood Storm' set in New York and Mumbai.
