Latina whose first job was picking garlic in Gilroy, CA with the migrant farm workers. Bill Withers sang "Lean on Me" and it made me stronger. Graduated high school at 16 years of age. After Cosmetology and Real Estate schools, went back to college as a Pre-Med student. Got accepted to one medical school, one internship, one residency, and one Fellowship. Then had my first job at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Lady crashed into me and our daughter (then 3), and she is ok. Bed-ridden for almost 9 years, I take one day at a time so that I can help others and stay alive long enough to see her grow up.
