As a youth, I found no joy greater than curling up in a corner with a great book. My family would often tease that, outside of my tom boy outdoor adventures , I was permanently attached to a book at any given moment. Furthermore, when I was in reading mode, in order to capture my attention it would have to be pried from my hands or some natural disaster would have to occur. As I look back, although playing childhood games and climbing trees was one of my favorite past times, I was absorbed by books. The feel of a hardback or paperback flowing through my fingers as I soaked in the fantasy world was priceless. They sparked my imagination and enhanced creativity that transferred over into my school work which was a proven bonus for me. Today, with technology changing it has had a major impact on the way our youth receive information including literature. The eBook craze has created a new generation of readers who now pick up a Kindle, Nook, IPad, or various other devices and download as many books as they like. In addition, even younger generations of new readers have eReader devices made by Vtech and various other companies that have the same technological goals. However, interactive books and learning games are loaded on cartridges for reading fun and learning. Originally started as Negro History Week in 1926 by Carter Godwin Woodson, Black History Month evolved as a means to celebrate the many contributions African Americans have made to their communities and the greater good of society as a whole. 1976 would mark the time when the celebration as mainstream would come to know it would obtain it'​s tradition of being celebrated each year in the month of February. This was done to commemorate the life of abolitionist Frederick Douglass and Emancipation Proclamation writer Abraham Lincoln who were both born during the month of love. So with such great history behind the tradition, why has it adorned a reputation of creating divide among it'​s opposers? What is it'​s relevance to those proponents who believe in it'​s significance? Is it as releveant today as it has been in the past? Why or why not? What about the decision to celebrate during the month of February, is it justified or is it falling short of that which it was intended? Is enough being done to encourage the youth and even the elders of today to acknowledge the great contributions of those names both small and great who came before them paving the way for their future? Is there more that can be done to promote unity and destroy divide surrounding the celebration and all year round? These are all questions I have asked myself and thus wondered how the masses relate to their many answers. Each can be addressed in great detail and...

To me this journey is about more than selling books. It is about getting intimate with my fans and colleagues and letting the real me shine through. I don't want you to just love my work, I want to share my world with you. From time to time I see postings from some of my favorites with fun facts about themselves and it has always been enjoyable for me. Therefore, I though I'd give you that with a twist. We are all blessed with five senses. When each comes to mind there is something that connects me to it. A bit of randomness for you to enjoy. Here it goes: 1.) SIGHT:  I love landscape and scenery more than anything when experiencing new places. From the mountains to the sea to the most minute creature I absolutely love taking it in! 2.)
